Class One

4.9.20

Dear parents and carers,

Thank you for your continued support this week as we put new routines and procedures in place. The children have had a great three days back at school and have settled into some of these new routines already.

I have listed below some of the key information about this half term, including when certain things need to be in school.

  •          Book bags and homework diaries only need to come into school on a Monday and a Friday. We will change reading books on a Monday and if you could return them on a Friday so they have the chance to be left out over the weekend.
  •          Our PE day will be a Wednesday so children will only need to bring their kits in on this day. We are lucky to have the Newcastle United Foundation in school again and they will be delivering our PE lesson.
  •          Children can keep a pair of wellies in school under their peg as we will be using the outdoor area and Enchanted Wood more. Please label these with your child’s name too!
  •          Water bottles can be sent in on a Monday and returned home on a Friday. If you could wash them over the weekend ready for the following week.

This half term our topic will be ‘This is Me.’ In English we will be reading stories like Five Minutes Peace by Jill Murphy to explore different families. In Science we will be learning about the senses and parts of the body. In Maths we will be following the White Rose Scheme of learning and we will be focusing on numbers 1-10 for the first few weeks.

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us via the school admin email or by giving the office a call.
